You are forced to learn Sanskrit in the school. Don’t oppose your parents Why? Do you know Sanskrit is our (India’s) ancient language and “Devanagari” is another name of it.
Why to learn this ancient language which is now considered dead language nowadays? You have the right question.
Do you now this language is the mother of all languages. It means many words are derived from Sanskrit and are used in their language.
So, we can understand different languages with the help of this. All our “Ayurveda” books are written in Sanskrit. Our Vedas and epics all are originally in Sanskrit. Our culture is based on these books.
I know you are not interested in such outdated things, but you need not learn thoroughly. Try to learn basic, so that you will be able to know the importance of it.
Nowadays people from other countries are learning Sanskrit; and we are learning French, German, etc.
In my personal opinion we should first learn our language then adopt foreign languages sky is the limit.
The BIGGEST ADVANTAGE of learning Sanskrit is that it is useful for computers because of its grammar and according to a research, NASA claims that SANSKRIT the ancient Hindu Language - is the most suitable language to develop computer program.
